Acting Career

Parton also ventured into acting, starring in films such as 9 to 5 (1980), The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas (1982), Steel Magnolias (1989), and Joyful Noise (2012). She received several Golden Globe nominations for her performances and composed the soundtrack for some of her movies. She also appeared in television shows such as Hannah Montana, Glee, Grace and Frankie, and Dolly Parton’s Heartstrings.
